PRESS RELEASE: OCTOBER 19, 2016
The new edition of the White Guide Nordic will be released on Monday the 31st of October – featuring 325 restaurants in the Nordics and 60 in the Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
This third edition of the White Guide Nordic covers more culinary ground than ever before. In Denmark and Sweden we’ve picked out the top-scoring restaurants from the national guides and included the best newcomers (85 in Denmark, 92 in Sweden). The biggest expansion this year has been in Norway which, thanks to 16 new entries, now can count 64 restaurants in the guide.
Finland isn’t far behind at 61, while Iceland has 15 restaurants included.
As before, we’ve travelled to the far reaches of the Nordics to find interesting dining venues, including Greenland (2 entries), the Faroe Islands (5 entries) and Svalbard (2 entries). We’ve also travelled east. Last year’s edition gave a sneak peek into the gastronomy of the Baltics, covering Estonia. This time around we’ve included all of the Baltic countries, resulting in 60 entries in Estonia,
Latvia and Lithuania.
The launch of the White Guide Nordic 2017 edition will be held in Stockholm on October 31st. The guide will be sold through established channels, in addition to being distributed via partners. Besides the printed guide, e-book and the website (www.whiteguide-nordic.com), it will also be available as an app from the iTunes App Store: https://appsto.re/se/YxjP-.i
With a White Guide Nordic at hand you can easily pick out exciting culinary stops for your next trip, whether you prefer to try New Nordic, Old Nordic or the top international spots. All entries include an informative review based on recent, actual visits by reviewers, a rating of food, service, beverages and ambiance and of course all the factual information you need to get there.
Our team – consisting of more than 80 reviewers – continually visit, assess and re-assess restaurants. The restaurants are always booked under false names – and White Guide always pays the bill. That makes us well-informed – and, above all, independent. That independence is fundamental to our rating process, as is the doctrine of transparency in our reviewing system.
The White Guide
The White Guide has been the leading restaurant guide in Sweden since 2005 and was launched in Denmark in early 2014. The guides cover over 900 restaurants in the two countries, promoting continuous development in the world of gastronomy in this dynamic region.
